We don’t say cook all recipes very fast but sometimes quick and easy recipe is required to do. It’s a non-spicy and low oily dish without garlic and ginger. If you don’t want to spicy then use slit 2 green chilli for a more fresh flavor instead of chilli powder into this recipe. There are different style of Bengali Fish Curry recipe, Marathi fish curry recipe, south Indian fish curry, Rajasthani fish curry recipe etc.
Ingredients
  • 1. 250gm fish cut in round shape
  • 2. 3 medium sized tomatoes paste
  • 3. 3 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 4. 2 medium sized onions (piyj) sliced
  • 5. 1 tablespoon turmeric (haldi) powder
  • 6. 1 tablespoon mix cumin seeds (jeera) and mustard (sarason) seeds
  • 7. 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 8. ½ teaspoon red chilli (mirch) powder
  • 9. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera) powder
  • 10. 4-5 curry leaves
  • 11. Salt to taste
Instructions
  1. Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a pan on medium-high heat.
  2. Mix turmeric (haldi) powder, salt into the fish pieces
  3. Fry all the fish pieces until fish is lightly browned on both sides.
  4. Remove the pieces from the pan and keep aside.
  5. Heat the pan, add mix cumin seeds (jeera) and mustard (sarason) seeds into it and add 1 tablespoon oil in the pan.
  6. Add sliced onions (piyaj), little bit salt (Tips: only required to soften onions quickly), curry leaves, green chilli slit, salt as per your test and stir it well.
  7. Add tomatoes paste into the pan and mix it very well. Cover it for 5 mins on low flame. Then add turmeric powder, and pour 1 cup water for gravy (it depends how you want to keep the gravy thickness).
  8. Finally add fried fish into the fish curry
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves, cumin seeds (jeera) powder and serve now.
