Dal fry is one of the popular healthy recipe with full of protein. Basically dal fry is a medium to thick. It depends upon you. You can adjust the thickness adding water into dal fry when you cook it. Everybody loves to have it. There are different types of dal recipes like dal makhani, masoor dal (pink lentils), toor dal (arhar) and moong dal (Vigna radiata) etc. All dal fry recipes are having full of protein and vitamins. You can eat this recipe with rice and roti or naan. The delicious dal fry is one of the best favorite and mostly preferred to eat it. Ingredients
  • 1. 1 (200gm) cup toor dal (arhar)
  • 2. 1 chopped large onion
  • 3. 2-3 tablespoon ghee or cooking oil.
  • 4. 2 medium size chopped tomato
  • 5. 5-6 sprig curry leaves
  • 6. 1 tablespoon Panch Phoron (fennel seed, black mustard seeds, fenugreek and cumin seeds)
  • 7. ½ tablespoon turmeric (haldi) powder
  • 8. ½ tablespoon chili (mirchi) powder
  • 9. Fresh coriander (dhania) leaves
  • 10. 2 dry red chili.
  • 11. ½ teaspoon hing (Asafoetida)
  • 12. Salt as per your test
Instructions
  1. Wash toor dal (arhar) properly and let the toor dal soak in water for 30 minutes before ready to cook. Then drain the water.
  2. Put dal, 1 cup water, ½ tablespoon turmeric (haldi) powder, salt as per your test and sliced tomato into pressure cooker and boiled it properly in high flame.
  3. Heat the pan. Add ghee or cooking oil with the pan add hing (Asafoetida) and phoron When the panch phoron starts to crackle add curry leaves and 2 dry red chili into the pan.
  4. Add chopped onion and little bit salt for quickly the onion turns to brown or red (see, you have already added salt in boiled dal. So don’t add more. Just little bit) and stir it properly.
  5. Add fresh coriander (dhania) leaves, chili powder and poor the boiled dal into pan and mix it well.
